Default Graphics card help

The kids have a 2.8 P4 cheapo Medion PC, gig of ram, geforce Ti4400, they bought Vietcong 2.0 but it wont load its asking for Shader 2.0 and the 4400 only supports shader 1.4.

So, I am not buying them a new pc but can run to a graphics card, dont want to spend much but wouldnt mind a little more performance and the ablity to run Vietcong 2 and stop their bottom lips wobbling.

Now why did I go to consoles again ?

thats probably running an agp 8x slot in there so the fastest card possible is the gf7800gs last time i looked which is very good but quite pricey, look on ebay, the gf6800gt is very good also and coming quite cheap now and is a load faster than the 4400.

Did you complain when your PS1 wouldn't play PS3 games?

Also look on eBay for ATI X850, X1800 cards which again, would be a huge leap in performance.

See your point, but at least it was discrete steps rather than a slow and tedious process, will check out the X850 etc.

Make sure you have a big enough PSU to cope with your new Card. Some of the newer cards require a power PSU 350 watts Plus.

I concur an x1800 would be ott for your processor an x850 would be more appropriate
