Rumours I heard were that Vodafone & T Mobile were going to be the networks with Carphone Warehouse as exclusive reseller.

Also heard Orange mentioned but thats the first time I've heard O2...

Made me laugh when I heard the spellchecker already contains all the swearwords so you dont have to put them back into the b*****d when you first buy it...

FT.com / Mergermarket - O2 nears iPhone partnership
BBC news reporting O2 have been given teh licence and carphone warehouse will distribute by Xmas. Personally I wouldn't bother its over hyped and over priced better of with a XDA orbit or Mio A701 at least they have satnav built in

it may well be overhyped , but as my motorola KRZR (silly name) is ok but needs a change, it does not work well with my mac or pc and my contract with o2 will be up for renewal around the time the iphone is launched..it makes sense to me

Latest news is that Apple are thinking about different carriers for different countries and not eurpoe as a whole, Deusche Telekom aparently already have Germany in the bag, Orange for France etc.

I've read the iPhone has ready been hacked and there's some code in there saying

Default_Carrier_AT&T
Default_Carrier_Cingular
Default_Carrier_Vodafone
Default_Carrier_T_Mobile

I dont think anythings going to be set in stone until Apple do another "Jobsnote" in October I think, European iPhone launch details along with Leopard. Aparently it'll be 3G by then also, with an upgraded battery and possibly more memory.

Well, without 3G, better battery, and more memory, it's just an expensive toy really (not actaully that useful). I'd like one, but not with the current set of features and nasty price...

It will probably be unlocked on all networks by the end of the week

I got mine in Orlando and its already de-activated with every function apart from the telephony working fine. Wifi included

The screen shows video really nicely, just downloading House to keep me awake in a very boring meeting tomorrow.

Its seems to also be the first de-activated one in the Uk according to all the forums. Dead easy to do as well
