How many people have had the 360 "Ring of Death"?
After being highlighted in DJ Dunk's post, I thought it might be interesting to see how many Scoobynet people have had the same problem........

Still running and played more than most on here I'd say.

First console born: 21/10/2005
Second console born: 18/10/2005 (older than the first one!)
Third console: TBA
Consoles kept horizontal in open units.
Purchased the extended warranty so I'm covered against charges for quite a while.

Make that 3 consoles under my name.
My first return was a launch day console. The other 2 were refurbished (replacement) models. I voted for the first one (Launch day console) in your poll. I now own the 4th console with a 2 year warranty.

You might be a bit of a contradiction to the general rule that 360's tend to fail less if they're kept in the vertical position. On the 2 occasions where I've had the ring of death, its been when the console was horizontal. My latest has constantly been vertical, it has a habit of making some worrying groans & clicks but its still going...
How about a post of all those that havent ?
There seems a lot of people with multiple problems and those with none, the reason is ms are shipping out reconditioned units to those under warrently, hence the mines broke 5 times post.
There are actually few who've had faulty units but those who have had many hence things seem worse than they really are.
