Default Media Player/Adobe problem

Hi - my laptop won't open any type of media player or youtube video clips or adobe acrobat without freezing - the initial screen opens up then I wait ages and nothing happens. In task manager it always says not responding.

Any ideas

Are you blocking outbound requests ? Often there is an 'updater' process that kicks off when the app starts..

I turned the firewall off, tried to open a file on you tube and it just froze straight away.

Any other ideas?

Update the gfx drivers to latest. Failing that I would suspect dodgy ram.
