Stopping Windows messenger....

Cool Stopping Windows messenger....
On my wifes laptop, I can't seem to stop Windows messenger from starting. I have not unchecked in options to start when Windows starts, and it usually doesn't but as sson as she starts Outlook Express or IE, in it comes! I don't have this problem on my PC, any ideas?

start > control panel > Add or remove programs

left side of screen > add remove windows components > untick messenger

go through options

that should do it
