What cable??
I'm moving my PC but the router needs to stay where it is. So I need a long cable to connect it. Simple. I figured RJ45 ethernet, great, but there are so many types!!!!
Basically need 15 meters so I can connect my PC to the router - what should I buy?

What do you mean? 'So Many types!!!'
The only one you'll need is a CAT5 or CAT5e cable. But be warned that stretching this too far will mean signal degredation. I take it your router isn't wireless? If so a Wireless card would be your best bet.

I mean if I go on to any site and look at the cables a simple search brings back about 10 types.
For example
Cat6
Cat5
Cat5e
FASTCAT5e
Shielded
snagless
patch
stp patchcable
utp patch
Ranging from £3 to £30. Logic suggests they are not all the same.
Wireless doesn't work in this house the walls are too thick and the signal is weak at best.

If it's a problem to run the cable then homeplugs are a good option ( though significantly more expensive )
90m max for 5e without signal degradation.
