C drive formatt advise
My current pc is being replaced soon and I want to carry out a full formatt and re-install windows xp on my current system so that my son can have it, my current system often crashes and is pretty un reliable, so I was hoping a formatt would help when my son takes it on, can any one give me a link on what I need to do, i'm not computer illiterate but only have basic knowledge, is a formatt something that I should be able to do ??
Hard drive is 150 gig and I have a windows xp genuine disc.
Cheers Deano

If you boot up the PC with the XP CD in the drive, you will get the option to install XP again, and also within there it will give you the option to format the drive again
It seems that XP non Service Pack 2 will only 'see' 130 odd Gig of the drive, so you can either make a smaller4 partition for the C drive, to install XP on, and then when you put Service Pack 2 on, you will then be able to create a D drive with all of the remaining space

Cheers Sonic, that sounds like even I can do that lol !! i'm not bothered about loosing a bit of space, i'm sure it will be plenty big enough as it is.
