Question Setting up a BT Witeless Hub

Just got BT wireless hup and phone.

Anyone set these up?

I currently have a Lynksys router - with just the main PCD and one laptop. It is secure as daughter has complained her friends cannot get on whilst in our house.

I like the idea of free phone calls over the internet, but a bit concerned about changing my wireless network.

Has anyone done this - any advice please.

Thanks

it's v easy, just make a note of the wep key. the disc does it all for you after that, the laptop will need the key when it first connects, but this will be prompted when you try to connect (BT employee offer was it?)

No employee offer

I have been with them for ages, they phoned and said if I would stay with them I could have the free hub and phone, so decided to go for it.

That's until they look on the back of the home hub where the wep key is clearly written!!
As mentioned, very easy to setup and get working. It's possible to increase the security on the router to wpa/wpa2 from memory too...

Good luck

Amazing easy to set up - even I managed it - and I've never done anything like that before - or even worked with a PC (I've always been on Macs)

Set up the BT Hub and phone fine. Daughters laptop is also connecting to the internet fine.

Just one problem. I cannot get laptop to print on the printer connected to the PC anymore. It worked fine with the Lynksys. I cannot remember how I set it up. Any suggestions??

you'll need to re-ad the printer iirc, so go through the add printer process on the laptop and re-add it. it doesn't matter if you have two added printers the same on the lappy.
