Default Q- Linking switches together ?

basically have 6 switches (procurve 2510-24) all into a new cabinet to run a newly wired office.

at the moment i do not want anything fancy is it just a case of using the uplink port on each switch to link them together

thanks

Discalimer, I've never actually used HP switches so dont take this as gospel but as no replies as yet....

With my cisco switch I'd have to go into the GUI or CLI and set the links to trunk links, they may trunk automatically with crossover cable but if not you will have to set it manually.

not the best answer but....

I beileve so, most procurve stuff has auto mdix so you shouldn't even need a crossover cable. Plug and play.....unless you want to get fancy.....

Just plug the cables into the uplink ports, dont have to do anything at all, unless you are going to use vlans
