Anyone connected a Sony hadnycam to a pc.
I have followed the instructions but the pc isn't picking the camera up properly via usb for some unknown reason.
Pulling my hair out!
Any hints and tips most welcome.

Hmmmm.
The thing is, the camera has usb streaming which doesn't seem to want to work.
I'm finding it hard to believe that a modern camera can't simply connect to a laptop for burning dvd's.

I've managed to record footage from a Sony Handycam just using the USB connection. Win XP Service Pack 2 should auto detect it, then I just used Windows movie maker to record the footage. Make sure the camera is set to stream USB though.
If you're struggling look up the camera model on Sony's website and download drivers / software for it.

Next question is how do you burn a dvd as the file movie maker creates is a windows audio media file, or do these play on most dvd players?
