Default nod32 vs symantec antivirus

is nod32 that better than symantec antivirus?

I Wouldn't say by a country mile, even though I use Nod32 myself when I can get symantec for free (uni site license)

the main points are

* Symantec does take up more memory and resources than Nod but not as much as it's home counterpart Norton

* I would say detection rates are better on Nod32 going on independant tests

* Nod32 is less likely to crash im my experience

We use symantec in the Uni where i work, the settings are pulled from a server so updates and scans are managed centrally, this part it handles great, you just put a settings file in the install directory etc

I would say there are far worse Anti-virus products than Symantec but also some better, Nod32 and Kasperspy being ones that spring to mind, as far as whats better???? Nod32 defo

this question is mainly for home PCs. i have used symantec antivirus most of the time and only used nod32 on older spec PCs (PII and PIII).
