Default photoshop experts?

ive got a pic that is merged/blended with a foreground colour. I want to remove that colour & replace it with another, is this possible?
Ive tried doing a fill with foreground colour & various blending opacity levels but it seems to do the whole picture rather than just the colour.

Any ideas? Ta

Have you tried "select by colour" as the masking option ?

Try this:
1. Duplicate the image into another layer
2. Change the color using hues
3. Use the eraser tool to delete the bits that have changed color in the photo.

(Tried to make it as simple as possible)
