Question USB TV stick, no signal :-( need decent aerial

Hi all, i've got a cheap DVB-T stick for my laptop and I'm trying to get a signal at *cough* work *cough*.

Trouble is, I can't get a signal as the roof is metal and I can't get an aerial outside the building. I've tried with the supplied aerial and also with 3 aerials from argos and can't get a signal on any of them.

There is a blue LED on the stick that lights when it picks up a signal and so far the best I've had is a quick blink on the £50 argos jobbie.

Is there a way of boosting the signal from the laptop? Or would a powered aerial be any better? Or am I flogging a dead horse?

Thanks in advance,
Rob

Dunno, but I've got the exact same USB stick for my laptop, and I've never managed to get a signal with it, even outside. Only tried the supplied aerial with it so far though. I'd given it up as a bad job...

How do you know its the same stick

Mine works a treat when the laptop is on a window ledge and the aerial is fitted but when its placed further inside the building it just don't have the power... captain!!!

Because the model number is DVB-T and it was cheap, so I assume it's the same (Freecom).
