Default "Registry cleaner". Do I need one?

Whilst updating my AVG anti-virus yesterday, I came across a free download for a registry cleaner, so downloaded it.

It apparently found 218 problems, , but would only fix 20 for free.

Do I need one, and are they worth the money?

TIA, Alcazar
