SO much easier in co-op!
One shoots the kyrll (sp?) whilst the other gets all set up and shoots the boss once they've stopped flying round him.

My mate an I didn't even notice the chain gun at first. We kept getting killed trying to get past him so in the end we dug in near where you start the map and got him from there
