sluggish web browsing ??
Hi, wonder if anyone can suggest what could be happening here ?? currantly with wanadoo ( orange ?? ) 1MB broadband which I have been for the last year, starting to notice that speed off general browsing is very poor, pages on the web can takes a good while to connect and generally just find the performance to be very sluggish.
noticed that if I terminate my connection and then connect up again that the speed I can browse at is amazing !! pages will come up instantly, my email will come thru straight away where as before it could " time out " before actually connecting to my email server.
have ran a full virus scan with nothing found, deleted all cookies etc, etc !!! and carried out a full spyware check and deleted where neccesary.
pc is only around six months old.
so any ideas ?? is it purely down to the actual service provider and the amount off traffic using wanadoo broadband or is there possiblly something else that is causing this problem ??
would have thought it could be the pc purely by the fact off the browsing speed becomming so much quicker once I have terminated my connection and then connected again or is this something that happens with all connections ??
this ultra quick browsing only lasts a few minutes before gradually becomming slower again.
am now at the point where I am seriously considering switching service providers but unsure if this is the case with most service providers ie. poor browsing speed ??
p.s considering sky broadband package ( sky tv / internet / free evening weekend calls £26 a month ) any comments ??

Are your MTU settings in your router set correctly ? They may be too high.
Do you have fully legitimate copy of windows and int/explorer 7 ?
Was it OK before you put orange broadband on ?

Try installing firefox 2 to run alongside it and see if it works fine. If it does, unistall 7 from add/remove programs and let it update itself again
