Default Wii Compatibility With Disks

Decided to test the Wii disk player by writing a Wii ISO file to a DVD using Nero7, then ran it on the Wii. It didn't work.

What I am trying to find out is whether the Wii is sensitive to the brand of disk used within it or if there is some other problem. The disk itself was write-verified and passed.

So far I have use Datawire yellow brand DVDs and Memorex rewriteable DVD+RW disks but to no avail.

TIA

WB

Will the normal disc not be non-bootable due to being burned rather than printed with the protective boot sector at a factory ?

There's a red steel iso about if you look extracted as a feasibility test. As far as I know there have been no successful write-back's as yet due to the encryption schema's on the wii discs.

There's loads of ISO's about on the web for pretty much most of the games...

As there is for the PS3, you can't actually PLAY any of them though ...
