PS2 games aren't region free though so it won't play your UK PS2 games.

Don't worry about the power source just need a kettle lead with a 5a fuse in the plug. I have both USA and Hong Kong versions and they both play all ps3 games from Japan and USA neither play PS2 games or DVD's that are pal, but both play any Blue Ray disc no matter what region code is on the back of the box. Just be aware though if your importing one you will probably get stung by customs ranging from £60 - £138
Oh and the hard disc is upgradable as it's the same as any 2.5" hard drives that are available for laptops etc.

so wud ya recomend me getting one, whilst im out here in china. they are offering a hong kong version with an xtra controller, and a game for around 4800rmb, which is about £342, this is without much bartering at the price.
also the only ones i ave been gettin prices on are the 60gb ones, is it worth enquiring about the 20gb ones, then gettin prices of another hdd??

im only here till friday, so need to make my decision quick!!!

Not sure it's a mega saving, but it is likely to be cheaper. The UK price is rumoured to be about £425, so you're saving about £80 from the RRP. But, you could get stung big time on import duty, plus you won't get a UK warranty...
