PS3 pah give me the 360
Just unboxed ours and played Ridge Racer 7. What a load of Pony. Took ages for the thing to do updates, screen is Grey and bland. Whilst i havent got any fancy leads for the PS3 the 360 kicks its *** everywhere. More user friendly id say better graphics as well but i have only played RR7. I ll stick with the 360 i think.

Interesting to know.
I am torn between getting the 360 or waiting for the PS3
I guess it's hard for a proper comparison untill there are a few more games for the PS3, but the 360 is looking promising at the moment

Will get the lead later. I have Genji, RR7 and Need for Speed Carbon. The 360 just seems a better package at least its more user friendly. Looking for Motorstorm

Give it a chance. Your only playing first generation software don't forget.
Remember when the PS1 first came out? Ridge Racer on that looked awful compared to Gran Turismo when it was released.
Developers will soon get ti grips with it.
Having seen the demos for the F1 game and MGS4 I can say I am truly impressed with the PS3.

360 all the way!!!
Im trying to convince my Brother 360 are the way forward. He loves the ps3!!
Blu-rays discs are a no no
no hardwear scaler fitted on the ps3
ps3 High Def is not half as good as the 360's.
The only disadvantageonthe 360, it needs a bigger harddrive!!
Sold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 360 also has the wireless option to be used as an extender for Windows Media Centre or Vista Premuim.
Then there is the blu-ray or HD-DVD issue.
I'll hold on a bit longer and use the PC.
Cheers

"No hardware (up)scaler on PS3" because IT DOESN'T NEED ONE - it can render to 1080p natively, which the X360 can't without its upscaler chip.
"ps3 High Def is not half as good as 360's" if you have a decent HD TV capable of 1080p, then PS3 will look every bit as good as X360, if not better.

Probably because you are paying over the odds for a console which contains a dvd drive of an unproven format. Who knows if Sony will win the format wars. They haven't got a good track record in this arena (UMD anyone). Personally I much prefer the MS approach of not trying to force you into one format or the other. If / when I get a HD dvd drive, I'll get a standalone player which can play both formats.
That's ok if you have a 1080p tv. If you have a 720p set then the PS3 has to downscale using software. Could be nasty...

High Def is subjective, but to me I'd rather see it at its best, 1080p which the PS3 does natively and the Xbox360 doesn't. In addition the PS3 features a digital output. So from this combined perspective, "ps3 High Def is not half as good as the 360's" is clearly wrong, but perhaps at this point in time it would be prudent to suggest they're equal.

95% of HD sets currently sold are not 1080p though, (most are 720), so for the majority of users this means it is not the optimal setting for the PS3.

so to get back to the guy's point when he said:
"ps3 High Def is not half as good as the 360's"
At this point in time I'd say, they're at *least* equal.

which means there must be some software upscaling going on to get it working on 1080p
I'd say they were equal as well.

Ok i have fitted a HDMI lead and the Games are equal, Resistance and the Off Road racing game are however superior. Not bad as the 360 has been around for a Year now. I have always been a PS fan but im still drawn to the 360 simply for the ease of navigating. Major flaw is the Downloading side, the machine is useless whilst i that mode.
