Question Compaq Proliant 1850R

I keep getting a PAGE STOP 0x00000050 fault in ntoskrnl.exe upon attempting in install W2K Adv Server

I have up-biosed and all those good things as recommended by MS KB articles but begining to bang head against wall

I have actually got to the stage where I have an "install" of W2K but if I try and drop on SP2/3 it blue screens on me

(Cynical amongst you would say don't bother with the SP but I want something I can rely on, not worry it will blue screen over something else )

I have chkdsk'd it as well

Prior to this, server had W2003 Server but as it's not officaially supported, lacked a few drivers and stuff, so I zapped it lol...

Any ideas?

Have you tried using the SmartStart disk with W2K SP4 slip streamed media? That's what I'd try next.

The Smartstart CD is used to assist the installation of the operating system, it puts the correct drivers in the right place and helps you properly prep the hardware. The latest version is 7.6, but however that is not compatible with the 1850R. Version 5.5 is however compatible and can be downloaded from Software and Drivers - download HP SmartStart CD, 5.50 - burn the ISO to CD using your favourite burning package.

Have a look at Daniel Petri's excellent article at Windows 2000/XP SP Slipstreaming
