I just the episode of SouthPArk on warcraft....and the game seems interesting. Anyone out there who is experienced could let me know which warcraft version I should buy to get started? I was thinking of Warcraft III but they seem to be expansion packs.

The game in the film is "world of warcraft" http://wow-europe.com/

"the man has no life. . . . how can you kill someone with no life."

Warcraft III (addon Frozen Throne) is very old and with the custom maps are sill very playable.

At the moment there is a free 10 day trail that you can download from their main site although you cannot level up any further than 20 but you can get a feel of the game,so you can try before you buy

I did and now i'm hooked

I think you will find you get muppets on both sides. I have run across my fair share of losers from the alliance. ( I Play both sides ).

Best thing for new players is play lots of differant races and classes from both sides, and find out which combination suits your style of play and use that as your main character. I would also set up another character on one of the less populated servers as a backup. just in case your main server doesn`t come back up after maintenace. But does this mean i`m to addicted.

Jase

P.S Is anyone intersted in setting up a scoobynet guild on one of the servers

I'll second that. I started a rogue as my first char, then got to L50 with it, only to find I'd got really bored with it. I started again with a few other characters to see which I like.

I don`t think it matters that much, It will be down to the ones that really don`t want to do PVP. But PVP isn`t as bad as people first fear. Not every encounter with the opposing side ends up in a fight to the death.

If people are interested my main server is lightnings blade (horde. Already associated in a guild), with my backup being burning blade (alliance. Lonestar at the moment).

I've been reviewing some things on the WOW website and...
- What is the diffeerence between a party and a guild? (I want to setup a group with my friends)
- Which Realms are you guys on? Because as I can understand you won't be able to transfer your player between realms.
- To be able to speak to other players instead of typing, do you have to install an addon? If so where from?

Ive been on there since day 1, acutally im still on there (right now just off doing an instance with the guild).
Right, a guild is a group of associated people, all with instances or the likes in mine, a group is random normally so you dont know who you get, atleast with a guild you know who's who and how good they are
As for picking sides..... alliance has the most people, the horde the least, ive characters on both and find that the horde are a bit more "mature" in their playing style.

Choosing a character....
Your biggest problem, read on the World of Warcraft Europe webpage about classes, races and racial abilities, but its depenent on what you want to play, ive a lvl 60 dwarf paladin and a lvl 60 undead warlock, im playing the lock more at the moment, its good fun
Just get in there and get levelling, check out the forums on the above link and ill post back up if you need more info as im nearly at zg now.

You need to make a guild if your setting up with friends, you need to get a guild charter from the guildmaster in whichever city you start at, you need a minimum of 10 people for that.
