Hello

Since this Monday I have been having a strange problem with my Talk Talk broadband access. No changes have been made to the router or to the PC, but from Monday morning I have been unable to send email from Outlook (connection to SMTP mail server gets reset), send email or upload attachments to webmail, log into sites like ebay, amazon, sainsburys online, maplin, play, etc but i can view web pages and obviously post on forums.

I cant log onto MSN Messenger either, but Skype connects fine.

Have had 3 painful calls to Bangalore or wherever it is speaking to their "technical customer support" who are total retards.

Has anyone else seen similar problems ?

When I re run the setup wizard from my router (2Wire/BT 1800) it says...

Connection Status
DSL Signal: DSL found on Line 1
PPP Login: Login successful
Internet Address: An Internet address was verified
ISP Link: Domain Name Server found
Configuration Server Link: Unable to contact the Configuration Server

I am going to try a new modem tomorrow (my dad has a brand new identical one) and see if that changes things

sounds like the crap i had from tiscali..

they updated the exchange, and tried to blame my bb speeds for the problem... when it was there botched upgrade

they said i could only have 512k bb, due to the line and the upgrade,

i told them to downgrade me back to my old setup 1mb...

lo and behold they found i could get 1mb, but not 2mb...

i applied for 2mb online, and whaddy know

Well would you bloody believe it, something happened to the line between 0530h and 1030h this morning and it all now works. I will call TT to see if they can tell me what was done as they insisted nothing changed in the first place....
