Bt Broadband blocking IRC DCC sends?

Default Bt Broadband blocking IRC DCC sends?

anybody know anything about this, just tried a quick google and found some other users reporting problems.

trying to receave a file via IRC simply does not work anymore

I wouldn't of thought so, they would have to actively block all the dcc ports, over TCP.

It's probably just user error

if your ISP is blocking ports known to be used by certain programs change the port numbers. Do a search for "port forwarding"

What ISP are you on? This has also started happening to me and other users and we are on BT. Apperently there is a problem with BT causing disconnects when a DCC command is sent or received.

not sure if port forwarding would work ?

yeah this just started for me too, also on BT. I suspected it was them when a friend of mine in the states had gets break and it turned out to be her ISP too. I am able to send fine, and the get trouble is intermittent as I managed to recieve a .jpg from someone fine, but a .zip and a .mp3 both said no.

I don't use the default ports either I wonder how they do it.

Time for mass calls to BT I think.
