Default Tiny laptops

No not that crap make...

I mean small.

Any suggestions for a really small but usable laptop/notebook as I'm going on hols soon and need to take one with me, long haul.
I've broken the screen on my satellite pro I have at the mo, so thought I'd take the opportunity to get one more suitable.
preferably not too expensive but what's out there that is good.
I priced up an xps dell something or other with a 12" screen but the trying to see how small it actually is is hard looking through another monitor.
That one with a few tweaks came in at 1500 squids.
and also found a Toshiba Portege R200 for 1200 quid..

Your thoughts.

Andy

Cheers cw, that was a bit like fifth gear...

Motoring for dummies.
Anyway, been searching and scouring the net today and have come up with some likely candidates...

The sensible one
Samsung Q35 Red Ltd edition. Just under a grand.

Or a flashy uber cool one (but with less power, memory and space )
Sony Vaio TX3XP Carbon fibre limited edition. 1700 quid though.

You could always look at a Tablet PC instead.

jut had a dell 420 for a week - can't really see the point unless you are on the move 90% of the time (i am reviewing for work )

would not recommend for home use, remember they get away with the light weight battery etc by running slow, the keyboard is also a nightmare

do you really need one for the holiday or are you letting the geek in you come out

have had the small vaio for a day, imho not as good as the dell

should be getting in the light weight ibm (levno) tablet this week, I will let you know how i get on

Not to worry.

Just ordered the Q35 off Amazon for £955.32 quid inc postage.

If I want something faster but still portable I'll fix this here toshiba I'm tapping away on at the moment. (ported the display out to the desktop monitor for now)
On of my raptors in the RAID array on the desktop PC has thrown a wobbler now but sod it, that can wait until the new year.

Flybooks are very nice and good build quality on them too but a bit dearer.
