Question Broadband without 12 month contract

Anyone know any good broadband that does not tie you in to a 12 month contract?

My daughter is at Uni and only needs it until next June.

I think Virgin do a monthly contract.

Might be worth checking out ADSL guide for some more.

Most will charge a punative dosconnection fee if you stay for less than 12 months now; Virgin certainly do. Zen and Nildram are excellent; Im with Plus.net and theyre not as good as they were, but theyre cheap and better than most.

Zen gets my vote too !

Amazing over the 22 months I have been using Zen I cannot recall a single disconnect or issue !

Now ask the same of Tiscali et al . . . . once a month seems the norm

good timing, am too looking for similar for new rented accomodation. Seems a shame to leave NTL Cable, who I have had no issues with, but life goes on.

Nildram does look good though, as does Zen.

Need more opinions!

Zen or IDnet and check ADSLguide: The UK's largest independent ADSL review site - Your guide to UK broadband Internet.

I also say Zen. Not cheap, but superb customer service. But remember that as in all things, "cheap" and "good" are mutually exclusive.

I'd be on Nildram if I wasn't on cable. Had them for abot 2.5 years before this house.
Always recomend it to friends and family and never hear anything apart from how they are better than BT, better than Pipex, better than Bulldog etc...

Takes ages getting through to these people on the phone.

So far no deals for Students, in fact quite the opposite, end up paying set up charges twice because not moving immediately from one address to another.

freedom2surf are good - been with them on and off for a couple of years now. Not sure if they do a strict one month contract now but they used to.

The one I am on is a monthly contract but with a minimum period e.g. 3 months or pay back the set up fee.... so you should be fine until June.
