thinking of upgrading but im unsure which way to go ??? im either looking at an AMD x2 5000+ cpu or an INTEL core 2 duo E6600 !! the amd will pop staright in but i will need a new motherboard and ram for the intel but its about time i moved onto ddr2 ram so it doesnt bother me ! which is the better cpu for multi tasking and games ???

Intel all the way

I have the core duo 2 - 6600 with 2gb of Corsair DDR2 TWINX PC6400 (800mhz) and its fookin fast - gaming wise ATM core duo 2 is untouchable - has been for the past year also these babys overclock bigtime with no hassle just get a decent motherboard and power supply

TBH the stock speed is fast enough but you always want more

its early doors yet for the quad core - will be a monster once things settle down with them as the core duo was - wouldnt like to know the price of the quads

AMD chips are all me and my brother have ever used, thats about 10 in total over the last few years.

Just my preference but dont like Intel.

My dual Opteron 246s still kick a lot of Intel ****, especially with the Tyan K8WE motherboard.
