Default Alpine Multimap DVD

I have an early version vT2.20 (NVD-T001) of Smart Map pro for my Alpine single din INA-003.

The Satnav software is on a single layer Disk taking all of the 5.65 GB space and is scratched rendering the disk unreadable in the machine. It reads OK on my PC.

Thought it would be a good idea to copy it to a DVD-R double layer 8.65 GB disk and the Alpine flatly refuses to read it. No surprise there considering the dual layer etc...

Question is.. can I burn the Dual layer as a single 5.65 to make it identical to the original or buy a single layer at 5.65 GB (do they exist)????

I'm thinking the easier way is to de-scratch the disk with one of those cleaners.. but it does raise the question about being able to back it up in case of complete failure of loss of the disk.. I'm loathe to pay another £130 for the latest version...

Anyone??

Single layers come in 4.7, it should be a duel layer you have!

Just copy, burn and finalyze the DVD, should work!

Cheers Criss.
The Alpine OEM doesn't feel as thick as the Dual Layer.. so I assumed it was a large single..

On properties they are exactly the same.

I finalised the disk and both the volume name and space are the same...so I agree it should work..

I feel an Alpine help desk call coming on..
