printer ink drying up/photo printer best practice
Hi,
Is it true that printers should always be left switched on at the wall socket, in order to stop the printer heads clogging/the ink cartridges drying up?
Reading this back, it sounds stupid, but I'm sure I've read this somewhere. Is the printer in standby mode when 'off' on the unit, but 'on' at the wall?
My otherwise excellent Canon Pixma ip5200 is giving me a few problems and since I always switch off at the wall, I'm wondering if that's the cause.
The problem is that the printer seems to think an ink cartridge is empty, but after switching the machine off/on a couple of times, it then reads back correctly - that there IS ink in the tank.
Thanks.
