Running AOL and XP.

All is fine and well during the daytime, but come the evening/night, I get told there's a cable unplugged and my USB broadband modems DSL light starts flashing. It then reconnects for a second then disconnects again and tells me again that a cables unplugged. There are no cables unplugged at all..!!!

Any ideas on what's going on..?

Is there someone in a house nearby with a massive computer using up all the cables in my exchange or something..?

AOl just keep telling me to connect my modem into the master socket, but that's simply not practical due to it's location.
