does the light show amber or green?
I useed to get this on my old work screen, its like the monitor isn't getting a signal to fire up from the PC.
try turning off, removing power supply cable from monitor, switch back on, then slap in the power supply cable. used to work for me.

Somtimes have to take the cable out of the graphics card too!

it seem my psu had packed up!
just fitted a Seasonic S12 600w psu now pc is back to normal.
there goes my exscue to upgrade !
