Broken Sword - The Angel of Death, Problems!!!
Colleague sitting next to me has just bought above title and loaded it onto his spanking new computer. We fire up the game and the initial video sequence has the characters all black with no detail. We ignore this part and go to the game play and the characters remain as black figures with no detail.
Anyone had this problem and sorted it? From looking on the web this is not an isolated case but to date they have not released a patch/update to repair the glitch.

The graphics card is an ATi FireGL V7200 and as mentioned the computer was brand new as of last Friday.
This might be a coincidence but he also bought Full Spectrum Warrior which is made by THQ (THQ also made Broken Sword AoD) and FSW isnt working. FSW is installed and when you go to start the game via the desktop icon a virus warning is flashed up by Sophos and the game can't start.

Just because it's brand new doesn't mean that the latest drivers are installed. If it's a genuine bug in the game then you'll have to wait for a patch...

Right, we've just downloaded and installed the latest ATi drivers and they've fooked the machine completely. Machine was switched off for a couple minutes and then restarted and we were given the options of a number of different safe modes and the last known "good" settings. We did the last known and it appears to be ok now but its booted the machine up with the previous driver. We've just found out that there's a glitch with the latest ATi driver download so we're out of luck on that option. Looks like we'll have to wait for the THQ patch to be released, Doh! Cheers for the advice Ian
