When it works it's great - when it's hanging and chucking red lights at you it isnt.
Had a lot less problems since MS replaced mine but the dashboard is still plods a long a bit.
Games? Depends what you like really, I think every game has someone on here who loves it and hates in equal measure but I'd recommend Burnout, PGR3, CoD2 & GRAW - and get ready for Gears Of War out next month, it looks a stormer (CoD3 out same day I think), good games due out early next year too - Forza 2, Rainbow Six Vegas, Halo 3...
and anyone know when Half Life 2 is due out?

I'm sure most owners would agree it's a superb piece of kit and the games will only get better... Gears of War being the next 'biggy'.....

Mines great, only ever get red lights (the overheating ones) if i close the cover on the cabinet, but to be fair that shuts off all ventilation with only about a 2 inch gap either side and 1 inch gap above. Its never craashed or failed for any other reason.
Games: In no particular order.
PGR 3 - Cant get into it at all, GFX look good, game not my cup of tea
NFSU - If you like this sort of car game its great (kid loves it) again not my cup of tea
COD 2 - Excellent game single and multiplayer both excellent
Kameo - Great game although a little short and not played since i completed it.
Table Tennis - Really good, not much depth to it but the price reflected this, great playing against friends
Fight Night - Single player game pretty good, online not bad but much better against a friend.
LOTR BM 2 - much prefer this type of game on the PC, theyve done a good job with the controller, rate it good no more
Burnout Revenge - loved this on the XBOX this ones even better, online play loads of fun too.
The Outfit - enjoyed the single player game, multiplayer not a patch on other games
Ridge Racer 6 - Again couldnt get a handle on the controls, basically no braking just powerslide everywhere, didnt enjoy this one at all.
GRAW - again really liked this, single player good although ending is rubbish very abrupt ending, multiplayer it great too, loads of options and variation.
Hitman - Didnt like this one too much creeping around and investigation involved and one wrong move in a mission and you where toast

I'm also still on launch day console and have had no problems what so ever. PGR, Oblivion, DOA4 are all good,
Forza 2 and Gears of War due soon look promising.

Launch day console (or near enough 7th Dec) never seen a red light yet.
Best console I've ever owned. Xbox live is really showing it's worth now.
You will hear a lot of people moaning about the quality of the demos you can download, what they forget is until a year ago you had to buy a cr@p magazine to get those demos.

Launch day console and no problems what so ever.
Cracking bit of kit on my opinion. Xbox and PS2 havent been used for months now. XBOX360, DS and PSP get the bashing nowadays - when I find time to use them that is.

On launch day console....
Note: NO RALLY GAMES YET
Bummer. Have not really played it to be honest. Have gone back to original as I tend to play rally games.
If you are buying it under the illusion that it is a media player, forget about it. Windows Media Connect is a joke, showing all your music as a big list, and MCE connection is a farce over wireless, even if you have a perfect wireless connection.
I have reverted back to using XBOX Media Center on the original as that has no problem at all over my wireless net. The MCE front end on 360 is so slow you cannot even move the cursor as it is so sloooowwww.
Real dissapointment.
FYI, both DVD drive types firmware have been cracked, so allowing legal backups of your games........
I am waiting for the unsigned code to work, and hopefully the XBMC team will port their good work to the 360!

Mines great too, no problems, Xboxlive seems to be brilliant although Ive not played on it for about a month now and started back on my PS2 but thats because Im addicted to Pro Evo, When number 6 comes out at the end of the month I shall be spending every free minute on the 360 I should imagine and be getting more from xbox live

can anyone let me know is this console anywhere near to being hacked like the old xbox. i have an old xbox with an xecuter3 modchip in it. the pimped version of media centre is superb especially with the wireless link to my big pc upstairs. all those divx movies and torrent downloads streamed to my high def plasma look great.
now if i could get 720i or 1040i that would would be great. can any 360 users out there see this happening soon?
cheers

Bought it on launch day - Nowhere near enough quality games - Just generic shovelware. Exception are PGR, Dead Rising, Table tennis, GR:AW - maybe a few others. SHould be rectified by Xmas though, with the likes of Gears of War etc - Also, Lost planet next year, the demo of which is utterly aces.

Erm, well if you are being like that, PGR is definitely generic shovelware as well. It was a rushed out game for release that didn't use anywhere near the potential of the machine, and didn't have as many cars / tracks as the previous game.
There's some great games available for the 360 at the moment, (Oblivion, graw, kameo, lego starwars, burnout revenge to name but a few), and there's some great looking stuff on the run up to xmas. Look out for Forza 2 and Mass Effect early next year as well. They are looking pretty tasty

Doesn't it take something like 2 years to develop a top game? maybe longer... In that case if the developers had some 360 kit before the release it's only going to be from the next few months on that you're going to see anything starting to take advantage of the next gen consoles.....

You are not comparing like with like though. Wired will always be quicker than wireless. If you want your 360 mce to run as fast as the old stuff you really need a wired connection, (the wireless spec basically doesn't transmit the stuff as quickly as wired - that's a fault of wireless connectivity, not the xbox).
