Question Selecting IE as my main internet engine ?

In the past I've selected internet explorer as the main programme for the net but after doing some updates I've lost that setting and when for example I get a link via e-mail and click it my bt yahoo software opens instead of IE... how do I select IE as my main surf engine ?

I've done this a few times but cannot remember where I tick the box this time ?

Cheers
Simon

A friend who spends a lot of time on computer forums has advised me to stay clear of it... he says the word is it reports back all your movemnets to microsoft, not sure if there is any truth in that or not but it sounds to big brother for my tastes
