Default Virus

I keep on getting a message on my pc saying i have got a "Trojan.Haxdoor.Rootkit" i have tried a couple of different virus scanners and this has still not gone does anyone know what i can use to get rid of this??

Also do you know what this virus does????

There is a pop up which keeps comming on the screen.

The pop up is from my virus scanner which i got from ntl because it cannot get rid of the virus the pop up comes to remind me i have got a virus and i need to sort it out.

It's spyware most probably go to www.download.com where you can download trial editions of spyware removal programs ( i use spyware doctor)

try avg free edition from grisoft sorted mine out cant remember which one i had but it destroyed programs written in visual basic (accounts this time)

I've got AVG free (www.grisoft.com) which is pretty good also NOD32 is meant to be pretty good.

Tried still the same problem i searched for the virus on google but there is no information about it.

What else can i do i dont want to format my pc??????

I had a similar virus/trojan to this.

You need to run your PC in safe mode to remove it.

On startup after the screen where you press delete, press and hold F8 till you get advanced startup options and select safe boot/mode

Run your antivirus and spyware destroyer. Should remove the problem.
