Pc to tv with hd connec.?
Hi,
I've just bought myself a new lcd tv for my bedroom. (7ms response!)
My laptops got a dvi-out (7800gtx) and the tv has both d-sub (vga?) and hdmi inputs.
I haven't a clue whats compatable and whats not.
Does anyone know what the best connection would be to run the tv as a 2nd monitor? Hopefully to use as a 2nd screen for the pc or run dvd's....
I've got an audiophile m-audio so i gather i could use that for the audio out to the tv if i use an hdmi connection..??
Cheers,
Doug.

Taken from here mate: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI
Type A HDMI is backward-compatible with the single-link Digital Visual Interface (DVI-D) used on modern computer monitors and graphics cards. This means that a DVI source can drive an HDMI monitor, or vice versa, by means of a suitable adapter or cable, but the audio and remote control features of HDMI will not be available
Judging by that you should be able to use any connection from your laptop to run the second monitor.
