Firefox screen position query.
Hi,
Use Firefox on my home PC and lately it's started to pop up in the same position everytime I open it. And in a position and of a size that needs changing. Trouble is it doesn't take any notice of me when I resize it and then close it as it used to. Not even when I give it a stern talking to ...
Now, the clue is that this only started happening when my machine hung on me and I had to hit the reset button (I must get that better quality CPU cooler ....). So I'm thinking that the screen position is cached somewhere rather than being dynamic. Trouble is, where???? I'be googled and the only refernce I can find to this is a forum where someone answered with 'dunno mate' ....
Any clues as to where to look?
Cheers
Dave
PS: Windoze XP SP2 etc etc. Latest version of FF (1.5.0.6)

I had that problem with firefox the other week. Gave up in the end, backed up my bookmarks, uninstalled firefox, reinstalled, and restored the bookmarks.
Didn't try ccleaner though.
John.

Finally fixed it!!!! Tried the uninstall/reinstall trick with 1.5.x. No joy. Installed FF2 - obviously took the same defaults. Then found a couple of FF forum entries about it - hadn't managed to look before as the Mozilla forums are SLOOOOOWWW ....
Anyhow, seems you can get a corrupt localstore.rdf file. Go look in
<local drive>:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles Check in the directory with your profile and delete (actually RENAME it first!!) the localstore.rdf file. Everything will now be hunky dory ....
Just in case others had the problem .....
