Question I cant log on to a forum

Since last Thursday I have been unable to log on to a forum. When I enter my log in details the page just refreshes. All other websites are fine. I have had my password reset and still I can't get on. The site administrator can log on with my details and I can log on with another pc in my house, which is part of the same network, I can also get on at work. The site admin doesn't know what the problem is. I have formatted twice, sounds excessive but the problem is annoying and I havn't lost anything.

Can anyone give any ideas as to what the problem is?

Running XP Home with no other problems, as I say I could get on last week.

What's the forum? (PM me if it's something like the My Little Pony forum and you want to avoid the laughter from everyone on here )

Cookies would be a thought, but in theory they'd be gone when you reformat, but it could be something server side, but then you'd expect the other machine on your network to have the same problem.

I assume you're using the same browser on both machines? and they are both running XP Home?

If you're running IE, try firefox, or vice versa. See if that works.

The forum is Corsa Sport (I used to have a Corsa and spend a lot of time on there!)

I tried cookies etc before the format. As you say you'd think a format would do away with any problems.

Both machines running XP Home with IE 6.

I thought about trying Firefox, I'll give it a go.

I've just installed Firefox and I'm now logged in! I'll have to investigate IE as I won't rest until I know why!

Try clearing your cache, history and temory internet files.

the first 2 can be done from within IE, the seconde needs a search from the start menu for 'temp'

when its finished just go inot each folder and delete the files... ONLY THE FOLDERS THAT ARE NAMED TEMP OR TEMPORY INTERNET FILES

In IE try the following:

Tools->Internet Options

General Tab

Temporary Internet Files section

Hit the Settings button

Select the "Every visit to the page" option

OK and OK

Close all browsers

Try visiting the site and logging in.

If this doesnt work, what router/modem do you have?
