I thought I'd seen it all
As a Support Manager and having been in the IT industry for 8 or so years, I thought I'd seen most desktop-related issues until my Dad phoned me last night. Even with his PC unplugged, the fan in the PSU kept running and all the lights on the keyboard and case were lit up
It managed to run like that for about 10 - 15 mins That's a hell of a charge being stored up somewhere, I ain't touching that with anything metal!
I told him it had become self-aware and he should try and kill it before it became too powerful.
