United Devices have a screensaver you can run under the banner of Grid.org that uses distributed computing to analyse various medical models. The idea being that the analysis helps design new medicines.

Good idea although it say keep checking back for updates and the last stats were posted on that page over 2 years ago, guess they got bored with it?

 

The grid.org team page still shows as of today 379 members providing 82 days of CPU time every calendar day. So it's still going even if no one remembers
