Talking What are your Top 5 Classic Console Games....?

Remember some of the older ones being so damn addictive! Wondered which ones were peoples all time favourites...

mine would be...

1) MarioKart - Sheer genius! Think i spent about 3 years solid playing this game!

2) StreetFighter 2 - Remember how excited i was when the SNES came out and i didnt have to put 30p in every time i wanted a game!

3) Mario 3 - The one where he had a cape...Think it was the 3rd.... , so playable and so addictive!

4) Sonic The Hedgehog 2 - Superfast, addictive, great gameplay!

5) Streets Of Rage 2 - Great game walking along beating the crap out of people with a big end of level boss! You could press the 'C' button and you'd get a missle strike or simular which magically missed you!

Ooooh, made it tough being only 5,All the Mario's really! Ahhh Sensible Soccer! Golden Axe 2 was up there...Along with F-Zero, Sega Rally, Wipeout, Breakout, PacMan, Damn there's so many!!!! And there was one called something like Crystal Castle i think, quite old!!?? Remember liking it!

What's your top 5....?

I'm just remembering loads more!

Anyone remember Road Rash 2 on the megadrive? Where your on the motorbike and you can get a chain/bat and knock the other riders off! that was f00king awsome!

Used to love worms aswell, esp. if you get a few mates over, right laugh!

VirtuaCop 1 & 2 on the Saturn were pretty cool, real acrcade feel in the home!

I think Iain because the thread is titled 'console' games, otherwise that would be MY No.1 for sure.

It's a great little machine (make sure you have plenty of rechargable batteries to hand )

I've downloaded all the dev stuff, (was planning on using sdl and Fenix also), but I've just not had time to look at it properly yet. Real work keeps getting in the way...

Not heard of manic Miner? Perhaps I'm beginning to show my age

It was probably one of the best games available on the Spectrum, (I also had it on the Dragon 32)...

Well it was out in 1982 and if my maths are right the year you were born wez which is why you have missed out! Do a search for manic miner PC for a 256 colour PC version of the game. 20 levels platformer, tricky as HELL!

For some strange reason that is one of those code numbers that has stuck in my mind until this very day and will probably continue to do so until I pop it!

Good call with Micromachines! great game!

Mortal Combat was always a laugh! remember getting all the fatality codes out of the sun! All that blood was great entertainment for a 13yr old!

Command and Conquer Red alert, more of a pc game, but stupidly good!

esp against human opponents...
