removal of NORTON ANTI VIRUS 2003
Can anyone help me i am trying to remove norton anti virus 2003 to install 2006 version.I insert the new 2006 disc and I am told to remove the old version first which I have tried and also tried to remove updates etc (symtematic).i keep getting the message unable to remove try the change/add which i have done and recieve a fatal error message. Is there another way to remove it manually?
if I try and remove the update program it says i must remove NAV2003 which I cant do

Have you tried looking on www.download.com for a program remover? The only other way is to try to stop the Norton processes manually in Task manager. Manually delete the folder out of windows with all the programs. And then get a hold of Windows powertoys 'winui' to remove the entry out of add/remove. Also you will need to hunt down any registry entries in regedit.

Try removing it in safe mode.
Boot up win xp and press F8 or is it F5, anyway press one and you should get the boot menu. Select safe mode, then when booted try to uninstall it.
Had a similair problem with Macafee and did this to remove it.
