Default Comments on my CV please

Things don't look great at work at the moment so I've got my CV updated and want a few opinions before I start putting the feelers out there. I'm currently working in a small-ish company (350 and that number is decreasing every month)
What level of job should I be looking at?
Am I missing any core skills that I should consider training in?
Any jobs going?

Excuse the formating, it looks fine in Word.

Edited 25th June to remove my CV and a few of the top details

Hello Mate,

I would not put that you consider yourself to be an MCSE if you are not already. If you came to me for a job and said that i would have a lot of questions waiting for you.

I would imagine that anyone would ask you questions anyway but they dont need prompting That way you can impress them with you knowledge.

Although qualifications are nice... its the XP people will be wanting.

Good Luck with it

Thanks for the comments Bob,

I was unsure whether or not to put the salary on as well. Some leave this to the interview stage, others bring it up before then on a cv.

They will ask you your salary epectations... Have in the interviews i have had and given.

I have a chap who said "anything between £16k & £22k" (for a totally different job). What sort of a reply is that!?!?!? Ok i thought... i will give him £16k as he seems to think that he would be happy with it but would be really happy at £22k.

I thought you might say that David. I tried to change as much as I could with it being a direct copy

I was using even more and thought I better take some out.

David,

I've got the CV you created when you left Accenture.

I applied for a 3rd line support and intrastructure position last night. Fingers crossed

Is the correct answer. Sorry David. I thought you worked for Accenture for some reason. Where was it you worked?

Any other comments from anyone?

If you read my CV would you look at in more detail, throw it straight away, request an interview etc?

Sorry couldn't resist. The CV looks good but I would definately take all references to salary out of it and beef it up. If you can't stretch the truth on a CV then when can you? As long as you dont take the p1ss you can get up to speed on the job.

Just my 2p.

Get a bit of Database stuff on there, teach yourself SQL server and if a little more masochistic learn a bit of Oracle, thats what will get you 28 plus, you are only young based on your school dates so you have time on your side, get into databases as the O/S stuff doesnt seem to generate the salaries, dont know why, it just is.

You can download Oracle and SQL server for free, full versions and just have a go, PM me if you want any advice, all the documentation is on the web.

Honestly, get your nose in the dataabse side at work (if they use them) ask questions, mither people, read everything you can get your hands on, 12 months and you willk know enough to get a junior dba position.

Cheers J4CKO,

I'm 24 so I have a few years on my side.

I've had a basic look at SQL and it looks quite intresting, well as much as databases can be intresting Oracle is a black art in my eyes. Our core bespoke system is Oracle\Java based and it confuses the crap out of me.

Dont talk bollox.. if someone wants someone with sql then they would pay an mcsdba, Darren it aint you.. sql is boring.. I have to work with large sql db's and its boring... sql on your cv is fine, doing it daily isnt.. get vmware esx and play with that if you want a challenge, learn cisco properly.. etc..

Decide what you want, IE stay technical or talk unrealistic ****!

Thanks David.

Just a quick question re your oncall rota. Is your £500 per month in addition to your base salary? Its another 6k a year.

I currently get a 10% rota allowance per year for being on call 1 in 5 rota.
