Question Help with display settings please

All

I went on a business trip and plugged my laptop into a projector for a presentation. Since then, the display settings have changed so now everything on the screen looks too big and fonts have horrible blurred edges. I've tried playing with the resolution and going high res does help, but then icons and fonts look all squashed up.

Any ideas?

TIA

Cheers
Kav

There's an option in the display settings somewhere that says "use large fonts" see if this is ticked, if so remove it.

If it's XP have you tried using the system restore feature(START, Programs, accessories, system tools, system restore) selecting the restore point just prior to the time/date of your projector presentation)

Wouldnt recommend this - its a bit drastic for a display prob! Just right click on an empty bit of desktop and select properties, select the settings tab and change the resolution - once you done that check whether or not you need large fonts, and auto arrange the icons. Better check the refresh rate which is under advanced and monitor....

Have you checked what monitor it is set-up to use? This will again be in the Dispaly Properties. This may have an effect on what resolution you can use.

Thumbs up

Thanks chaps

I set it to 'True Colour' on the highest res possible (although this didn't work last time I tried it) and we're back to normal.

Thanks again.
