hello,
i'm getting distortion on a limited number of tracks when played back through any speakers/headphones. it's as though the recording level is too high. i never however manually adjust the level, it's on automatic, and many other songs with greater peaks and troughs have been succesfully copied accross from CD. i never have any problems with downloads. any ideas? i don't really want to start having to reduce the sound level for some songs as levels will differ from others.
thanks

Prob down to the quality of the recording and the bitrate you ripped it at. Most songs rip ok at 128/160 but some just don't sound right unless at 190 and so forth.
I doubt it's got anything to do with the iPod. As the old saying goes, crap in crap out.

All ym stuff was at 192 - I'm in the process of redoing everything to 320 and the difference is much better than I expected it to be.
