Default Exchange 2003

Is it normal for the install of exchange 2003 to say there are issues running this version of exchange on this operating system.

I'm running Server 2003 ent, have installed IIS, DNS, AD, ASP.Net, SMTP and NNTP.

The /domainprep and /forestprep options that can be run from the checklist seem only to start the Exc 2003 install.

Thanks,

Mark

Which O/S are you running this on? If 2000 server then I would understand the warning message. If 2003 Server then maybe it's due to the service pack needed.

Have you checked out Microsofts Knowledge Base for details?

I'm running 2003 Ent, release 2 SP1.

I can't seem to find anything as yet about it.

Come again, that doesn't make sense.

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=555285

Found this, basically I can ignore the message.

Both Microsoft Operating System and software tend to have service packs. So for example:

Windows Server 2003 has a Service Pack 2

Windows Exchange 2003 has a Service Pack 1

Windows Microsoft Office 2003 has a Service Pack 2

Microsoft XP has a Service Pack 2

etc....

Does that make sense ?

In other words have you checked www.microsoft.com/downloads for any Service Packs for the products your working with?

It does, but I was a little confused, then I realised I had only said 2003 ent, which could have meant server or exchange.

Anyway, I'm a little further now, apart from the install stopping a the 'First Administrators Group' for some reason.

I guess I'll try again this evening.
