Question recording sound- XP

Hi guy's,

I want to record some audio (mic input) on my PC, however XP dosen't have a sound recorder as in previous OS's.

Any third party (pref. free) software that can do this realatively simple, or is there something within XP (home) that I've overlooked..?

It has sound recorder which should do the job, I used it the other day to record a phone call. Would have a look but I'm on a Mac.

I've got it - start, all programmes, accessories, entertainment, and there it is.

If it isn't then you should be able to add it from the WinXP CD.

as above, there is also a program called polderbits which will do what you want (thinks its free to use for 30 days). This saves in a variety of formats as well
