Default Advise on PC screens

Hi

Im in the market for a new screen for my PC. The screen will only be used for processing digital pictures in Photoshop, no gaming will be involved.

It needs to be a very good quality screen with very accurate colours, i havent got a clue, but i have been told that a crt screen is better than lcd, but which make and model?

Thanks in advance

Paul

the people on DP review go on about Eizo tft monitors for their color thingemyjiggit(!) - true color. i'll check in a minute.

i had a 2 screen eizo setup at my last place - they are really good monitors - i sat in front of 2 for 11+ hours a day!

will check dp review.

I am no guru myself but if you do decide on an LCD screen I think you should look for one that has an "8 bit" backplane for colour instead of "6 bit". Apparently the colour reproduction of an 8 bit is a lot better.

Thanks for that, but i really want to go for a CRT screen, really due to cost. A descent LCD i think are circa £1500, and im not prepared to pay that for a bit of extra deskspace.

Cheers

I reckon a high end iiyama 22" would beat anything out there.
