PC and Laptop on same Broadband Connection?
The problem:
Currently have a pc with broadband connection and its own broadband modem.
I would like to have a laptop as well, but can they both use the one broadband telephone line at the same time if the laptop has a modem aswell?
I dont want to have to pay for a separate broadband package for the laptop and potentially even a second phone line? in order for it all to work.

Get a a router (wired or wireless)
Modem > router . Router connects to as many devices as you want .....
I'd get a wireless one tbh with a wireless nic for the laptop
No need for extra lines etc at all

I agree,
The Netgear range of routers are very good.
We sell a lot of the DG834G & GT.
They are easy to setup, have good security features and a hardware firewall.
Just dont forget to setup a bit of security with them as there are so many wireless networks out there open to everyone.
Da\/e.

Another shout for Netgear, Ive used their routers for years and had no problems.
This will help in terms of security if you do go down the wireless route:

Amazon have got the Netgear DG834G for sale at £63.79. Plus you get a Netgear WG111 54Mbps Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter FREE.
I have one. Very easy to setup.
