Default Techy bods - what do i need to connect my PSP to the net?

As above - i've got a home PC which connects to my ISP through the phone line (Broadband) - using a modem the ISP provided.

I'd like to go online with my PSP and ideally i'd like some sort of device that plugs into a USB port.

Any advice?

Cheers

you probably need to get a router connected to your modem then you should be able to plug in your pc and psp at the same time but as i have never seen a psp this might be bollox.

I have a router on my DSL and plug in 4 lan devices and numerous wireless devices so I assume your psp will be the same.

The PSP comes with a USB Cable which should enable you to connect via your PC

I connect via the wireless option which is really easy to set up if you have a wireless router

USB port is only for transfering files, not actively browsing the internet. To do that you need to use the wireless modes and have a wireless router.

It's information on the wireless I need Phil - i can connect my PSP up using the supplied USB cable.

Can i buy a device that plugs into a USB port and would give me a Wireless Access Point, which i can then use to get access to the 'net via the PSP?

i.e. can i buy a wireless router that plugs into my home desktop via USB?

I suppose theoretically you could get a Wireless USB stick have this running in a peer-to-peer mode and set-up windows Internet connection sharing. Then using the PSP , it should obtain a DHCP IP address from the PC your sharing onto to get onto the web.

The answer is above. Buy a wireless router for your broadband and connect the PSP via that. That really is all you need to do.

www.ebuyer.com for the router. One of their own 54g's is ok.

The PSP is 54g?

Wayne.

Cheers Wayne, but i was hoping there was a 'cheaper' alternative - £40-£50 for a router @ the moment is a wee bit more than i wanted to pay!

I'll look into it though - cheers
