Only if you have a media center pc on the network. Alternatively, you could burn the avi to a dvd and play that in the 360...

I don't think you can play divx encoded avi's via a media centre PC?
Could be wrong though.
Do as Iain says, burn it to a DVD format (I recommend VSO divx to dvd) and hey presto

Transcode360 will stream MPEG4 via MCE.

Maybe they'll add MPEG4 support into Connect360 soon for Mac users ?

You cannot play avi files directly via a media centre PC to your Xbox 360, its wmv and i think Mpeg 2's too.
to play avi files you need to have a program called transcode360 installed on your media centre PC and run it from your 360, it works well and is nicely intergrated via the more programs menu.
The way it gets around the the problem is to convert the avi to wmv on the fly and stream the video to the 360, works pretty well as long as you have a reasonably powerful machine.
